How does misrepresenting science to promote religious doctrine not fit ';bearing false witness';?

Technically, the Bible defines ';false witness'; as:

Exodus 23: 1 鈥淵ou shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. 2 You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice. 3 You shall not show partiality to a poor man in his dispute.';

The ';gist'; here is that a person shouldn't issue a false statement in a legal proceeding against another person. According to Deut. 19:15-21, false witnesses against an innocent person are given the punishment faced by the accused.

How does misrepresenting science to promote religious doctrine not fit ';bearing false witness';?
It is bearing false witness, and people who actively choose to do things like that end up in Jail for tax evasion.

If a person finds a way to justify lying about science then the find a way to justify lying about all things in their lives.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit to learn that the avid evolution bashers on R%26amp;S were incredibly bad to be around, and untrustworthy. How does misrepresenting science to promote religious doctrine not fit ';bearing false witness';?
Any religion that promotes an invisible space guy as being in any way factual is already ';bearing false witness';.

When fundie xian tries to promote their version of invisible space guy as being head of the Invisible ... whoops, Intelligent Design movement, delusion and or lies are gonna run rampant.

Great question. However, all the religious have to do to defeat the tenants of science they may happen to disagree with (evolution, for example) is to assign it as being the product of ';deceived minds bent on bearing false witness';. Isn't that convenient?
It is. I don't think God wants us to. And as a christian, I am not comfortable with the theory of creationism because God is my Father, He doesn't lie, and He wants me to tell the truth.

I'm pretty comfortable with evolution, and my heart bleeds for Charles Darwin, who lost his faith when his little daughter died. (Which is a whole different topic)
I'd like to see the response from ';Let's Debate'; (never have I seen a more ironic name).

';Me'; (below), religion does not fit into science, therefore it's unnecessary and illogical to misrepresent religion to fit into science.
Misrepresenting anything is bearing false witness but disagreeing is not it is merely an opinion. It is equally true using your argument to say science bears false witness to creationism
No, under the Law it a witness who give false testimony for a trial under government court proceedings.
In the wise words of George Costanza ';It's not lying if you really believe it, Jerry';.
now, now ... this is religion here, logic is not allowed...
You call evolution a FACT..

Who is the one bearing the false witness?
I think you have that wrong. You would use a quote from God's commands to accommodate a secular thought, yet you do not support God's Word, which is the Holy Bible. What a hypocrite! Please plagiarize with secular quotes if you're going to show misrepresentation in humanity and misrepresent God's work.
