Can you get a false positive result on an at home pregnancy test?

its very very very rare , your either pregnant or have recently been pregnant (miscarriage) take another and if it is positive as well you are 100% pregnant because the chances of 2 false positives dose not happen you'd have a better chance of hitting the lottoCan you get a false positive result on an at home pregnancy test?
It is very rare to get a false positive as the pregnancy hormone, HCG, needs to be present in your body to deliver a positive result. Chances are that if you returned a positive, even a faint line, then you are pregnant.

You can also go to your Dr and request a blood test which will provide a more accurate result. Can you get a false positive result on an at home pregnancy test?
yes you can and I have.I was like 16 and I was so scared.I thought I was pregnant I told my mom and everything and she freaked out and called the doctor and behold I wasn't really pregnant and it was even a test that was done by a pregnancy center.A few years later I got a positive positive lol and had my daughter.
There's only a couple things that are going to make it say postive.

1. If you've read it AFTER the 10 minute mark. You might see a line or something then, that really isn't a line.

2. If you are on certian drugs that contain the same hormone, which you'd know it if you were.

And really, that's about the only things..

If you think it might be a false answer, best thing to do is take another test, in the morning with the first urine, and read it within the first 10 minutes.

or get a digital, then you don't have to worry about mistaking lines or anything. Good luck!
no, but you could have a chemicle pregnancy, where the egg and sperm dont attach to the uteris (sp) and then the pregnancy ends, it's not consider a miscarrige. so if you test really early and got a positive and couple days later you test negitive then thats probably why and it leads to a late period. its actually very common- at least thats what the pregnancy books say.
Not very likely because the test is sensitive to the hormone women get when they are pregnant and only when they are pregnant. If the test has set out too long, then the positive could be from an evaporation line or if the test was past the expiration date you might get a false positive.
Yes you can. If you have a miscarriage before your realize you were pregnant. You will still have the HCG Level in your body if you test soon enough.
No....if you looked at it after the 10 min. time limit, then the evaporation line might show up looking like a false positive. This is where false positives happen.
I Guess So.

But Usually Home Tests Are Pretty Acurate.

If Your Took It Too Soon, It Might End Up Being False.

Get A Blood Pregnancy Test From Your Doctor.

There pretty acurate.. :)
if its to soon

take it a week or so close to when u get ur period

unless u did it ryte before

then just wait it out

unless ur late then take it
Nope... its virtually impossible to get a false positive.
I think it's rare but I'm sure it could happen
It's not very likely, but it can happen.
