If two angles are supplementary then one angle is acute and one angle is obtuse. TRUE or FALSE?

Plz help! Homework question due tomorrow.If two angles are supplementary then one angle is acute and one angle is obtuse. TRUE or FALSE?
Sometimes true. It is true unless both the angles are right angles. Hope that helps!If two angles are supplementary then one angle is acute and one angle is obtuse. TRUE or FALSE?
The answer chosen as ';Best Answer'; is incorrect.

The statement isn't ';sometimes true';. The statement is false.

IT'S ALWAYS TRUE. WHY? BECAUSE A SUPPLEMENTARY ANGLES ARE TWO ANGLES WHOSE MEASURES HAVE A SUM OF 180. IF THEY ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT THERE IS ONE WHOSE ACUTE THAT MEANS LESS THAN 90 DEGRE. SO, IT'S 80 DEGRE.AND THE OTHER IS ABSOLUTELY 100 DEGRE= OBTUSE =MORE THAN 90 DEGRE OR LESS THAN 180.

That statement is FALSE.

Two angles are supplementary if they add up to 180 degrees.

So they both can be 90 degrees.

90 degrees is ain't acute and ain'ter still obtuse. Dig? ;-)

It's not correct to say that this statement is ';sometimes true';. That's because this statement doesn't talk about a specific case. This statement purports to declare some ';universal truth';, that's the problem.
Let's break it down.

Acute = X %26lt; 90 degrees.

Obtuse = 180 %26gt; X %26gt; 90 degrees.

Supplementary Angles = two angles whose sum adds up to 180 degrees.

Yes, it is true to an extent until the acute and obtuse angles both become right angles.

Answer = Sometimes true.
