There's quite a few ';end of the world'; theories coming due, pretty much any time from 2012 through 2025. There's a calendar in the Great Pyramid of Giza that ends around that time. There's a Catholic saint who went into a trance and rattled off the names of every pope while on a pilgrimage to Rome; according to him, we're on our 2nd to last one. Then there's the old standby predictions about the end of the world, including Nostradamus and new interpretations of Revelations in the Bible.





I doubt the world will end in 2012. The Mayans chose that date because they believed it was the end of a stellar cycle. However, the world is apt to make abrupt and sudden changes. I doubt the world will end, but I suspect we are due for a major catastrophe, one that fundamentally changes human society. For all we know, another asteroid like what killed off the dinosaurs may be headed our way, and our governments are keeping mum to prevent a worldwide panic.
Apophis is comming April 13 2036. That one should actually make you afraid.

We Hindus don't believe that the world will end in 2012 because no Hindu scripture says so about any such possibility. In fact Hindu scriptures never talk about destruction but creation. These are all imaginary events propagated by the believers of destructive religions. Please stop rumors.
I think in about 50 years a big meteor is supposed to get close to Earth for real. No doubt people will start rumors that it will actually hit us.
