Can a home pregancy test give a false positive?

i'm like 2 or 3 weeks late so i took a home pregnancy test this morning and it read positive. is there any chance it could be wrong? Can a home pregancy test give a false positive?
lol, No way.

You are definitely pregnant.

Congrats? Can a home pregancy test give a false positive?
There is a chance of a false negative but NOT false positive. you are pregnant.
There's always a chance, but they're pretty accurate.
yes my sister is a virgin and she took one and it came out posite haha but yea i guess it can be
ive taken the equate early respone test..blue line test..and got a blue positive line..but i wasnt pregnant.
I guess it's possible, but most likely, you are pregnant.
false negatives are very very common. false positives however are very rare. they usually only happen if the woman is on any kind of fertility treatments. i'd say you're pregnant. call your doctor and set up an appointment.
only if you were taking fertitlity meds that contain hcg. sorry, but you're pregnant. congrats.
To the 1st noter, she is 2-3 weeks LATE for her period. That means she would be nearly 6 weeks pregnant. There is a slight chance of a test being wrong but I dont think so in your case. Time to head to the doctor where they can confirm it.
Only if you've been taking fertility drugs. Sometimes the test can detect levels of hormone in the medicine and you'll get a positive test. If you haven't taken fertility drugs and you got 2 positive tests, you ARE pregnant.
Unless you've waited over 10 minutes and/or unless it was very humid, hot or cold where you took the test - you're pregnant.

False positives are very rare.

If you're still unsure book an appointment with your doctor to find out for sure.
nope. ur pregnant. :) CONGRATS. i wish u all the luck :) make a doctors appointment and they will give u another test and set u up for an ultrasound :)
There is always a chance, but it is less common to get a false positive than a false negative...meaningyou are most likely pregnant..Plus it also seems like you are pregnant not only from a positive test but you are almost 3 weeks late. If you are still worried and not sure, you should go to the doctors, and ask for a blood test...that should be able to tell you for sure...good luck I hope this help..
yes it can verry much. soem of the test can be outdated. and at 2 or 3 weeks it doesnt really come up in the urine. so if i were you i would go to the doctor and take a blood test. those are the most accurate
