Will a pregnancy test give a false positive while breastfeeding?

i am breastfeeding and i think i am pregnant. is a home test reliable now? Will a pregnancy test give a false positive while breastfeeding?
Just as reliable as if you were not breastfeeding. Only HCG can turn one positive, and that hormone has nothign to do with breastfeeding. Will a pregnancy test give a false positive while breastfeeding?
yes an HPT would still be reliable if positive. There are more false negatives than positives because they show positive when you have HCG in your system. Breastfeeding doesn't give you HCG in your system.
YES it will be reliable!!!!!!! Breast feeding will have no effect on a pregnancy test!!!!!
I hear your having ';Irish twins';.

Irish twins = two kids born with in the same year to the same mom.
Yes, it will.
A pregnancy test will show accurate results regardless of lactation. The hormone measured by these tests are no longer being produced by your body from the moment the placenta was discharged at your birthing experience.

I too became pregnate while still breastfeeding my second child, LOL!

Some further advice I would give is this: If you in fact discover that your are pregnant it would be advisable to wean the baby quickly. Breastfeeding causes contractions [helping you to get back in shape after baby and heal correctly] But these very same contractions can cause miscarraige to a newly growing fetus.

If the baby is still really little perhaps wean to a bottle rather than a cup.

Oh, wow!

Good luck to you on this adventure!
well if ur breast feedin than ur frist child is still really young and theres an amout of time after having a baby that u can't get pregant for awhile so i doubt ur pregannt u problrey just have that thing where ur really depressed after having a kid.
your breastfeeding wont affect the HPT ...i was breastfeeding mine and i found out i was pregnant when he was 6 months old and i toke a HPT ..and well now im pregnant 6 months along ..
No, it will not cause it to be falsely positive. Whether you are producing breast milk or not is irrelevant. If it's positive, you're pregnant.
a home test is definitely reliable. breastfeeding will not give you a false positive. the home test measures hcg, which is only made by your system when you are pregnant.

good luck.
