Are antivirus false positives actually dangerous to the computer or just annoying to the user?

can a false positive actually cause harm to the os or become dangerous. or is it just annoying to the user. is safer going with a virus protector that is stronger in heuristics with a bunch of false positives or is it safer going with one that is a bit weaker but almost no false positives? Are antivirus false positives actually dangerous to the computer or just annoying to the user?
No harm. And I checked this a few days ago when YA wasn't registering links and gave me false readings.Did a 5 minute scan with my own software and it was perfectly clean. Are antivirus false positives actually dangerous to the computer or just annoying to the user?
There are Rogue anti-spyware/virus products which means that they are fake anti-virus programs to make it seem like you are getting rid of your viruses but you're actually increasing them by using the program. Be careful. Other than that no, they aren't ment for annoying you.
i think it depends on the anti virus program your using. and that some viruses attach themselves to important computer files so deleting them may be harmful to your computer. so it could go either way really
